Alaska Brown Bear Hunts
Our professionally guided and fully outfitted Brown Bear hunts consistently produce some of Alaska’s largest bears each season. The Coastal Alaska Brown Bear is the big brother to the interior grizzly bear. Our hunting clients have received numerous awards from Safari Club International, the Alaska Professional Hunter’s Association and Boone & Crockett. On three occasions, receiving the World Hunt Award for “Best North American Trophy” and twice for the “Number One” SCI Brown Bear, out scoring all Kodiak bears. At this writing, our clients have taken five of the Top Ten Brown Bears in the Safari Club International Book of World Records and “First Place Brown Bear” in both the 2010 and 2011 Alaska Professional Hunter/SCI Awards. What this means to you, the hunter, is that this area has the biggest Brown Bear on the Planet!
We hunt thousands of square miles of Alaska’s finest trophy Brown Bear and Moose habitat on the remote Alaska Peninsula, in Game Management Unit 9E. This area is specifically managed by the Alaska Deparment of Fish and Game as a trophy Brown Bear area . Our seasons and bag limits are the strictest in Alaska simply to assure serious sportsmen, who travel this far , the best opportunity to obtain a world record class trophy. Once you harvest a trophy bear from this area, you can not return to hunt with us for four regulatory years. We are allowed to limit our own harvest in our guide registration area, so no Permit Drawing is required. We can guarantee your ability to obtain your hunting license and brown bear tag.
Spring and Fall Hunts
On even-numbered years, we hunt spring bear in May, and on odd-numbered years, we hunt fall bear in October. Our hunts are one hunter per guide unless two hunters wish to hunt together. With about a 90% opportunity to take a nice, mature bear, our success rate is high on trophy class bear averaging in excess of nine foot. Several bear in the ten to eleven-foot class are generally taken each year. Although not everyone takes a bear on these hunts and not every bear taken is a ten-footer, you won’t have a better chance to take a record book Brown Bear anywhere in the world.
Traditional Tented Camp Hunt:
You and your personal licensed, experience hunting guide will be flown from Wildman Lake Lodge to a preselected remote campsite. One guide and one hunter is normally how we do it. Upon request, we occasionally do 2:1 father/son or husband/wife hunts. We only use the highest quality camping equipment available. Unlike most outfitters who will boast of a cramped 8 X 8 Bombshelter, we use a larger 10 x 10, all weather, double walled. These large all season tents have served us well, even in the worst Aleutian storm. With plenty of heighth to stand up and put your gear on and enough space for two high quality Roll a Cots table and chairs. The full size sleeping pads are provided and these sturdy cots are high enough to store your duffle and gear below. The extra large storm vestibule makes the perfect camp kitchen and provides even more storage. All drinking water is flown from our filtered source at the lodge in 5 gallon water containers. We provide everything for your hunt except your personal clothing, footwear, rifle and sleeping bag. Each camp has satellite communication with the main lodge.
